Title

El Codo (The Elbow)

16” x 20” Handcut Paper Dayton Wire Wheel (aka Swangas)

In Houston, ridin a "slab" — custom lowrider-style cars decked out with candy paint, pop trunks, neon lights, and most famously, “Swangas, Elbows” or Dayton wire wheels that poke out wide — is more than just a car scene, it’s a cultural statement. Swangin’, or slowly swerving side to side down the road, is the signature move, a show of pride, presence, and respect that traces back to the streets of H-Town in the '80s and '90s. It's about being seen, flossin’ your style, and paying homage to Houston’s deep-rooted car culture, where every ride tells a story and every swerve is part of the dance.
