A little Piece of Peace

This piece was a passion project in every sense of the word — a creation born from faith and family. It’s a replica of the iconic Jesus piece, but it holds a much deeper meaning for me because it was made as a gift for my mother.

Like many in Latino families, I grew up in a Catholic household — Sunday church was non-negotiable, and faith was something we practiced without question. But as I got older, that unquestioned faith sometimes felt like a burden, pushing me away instead of drawing me closer. Yet the seed my mother planted never stopped growing. Life, with all its ups and downs, became the soil where that faith took root.

Today, I can say without hesitation that I’m a believer. My faith has been a guide — steady through the good, the bad, and the ugly. It’s taught me that even in the hardest moments, there’s a purpose, and everything will unfold as it should.

I don’t push my beliefs on anyone — everyone has their own spiritual journey. But I do believe there’s something greater than all of us. And if we take a moment to pause, to listen, and to humble ourselves, maybe we’d all breathe just a little easier each day.
